Obituary - Robert M. Dahmer

Robert M. Dahmer, 59, of Nevada, MO, passed away on November 5, 2021 in Billings MT. He was born in Melbourne, FL, on April 01, 1962, Son of Maurice “Bub” and Marinda “Tin” Dahmer.

Rob grew up in Nevada, MO where he enjoyed a life of sports and attending school with his brothers, sisters, and friends. After High School, he joined the Army and found himself stationed in Hawaii where he met Julie Klehn and married soon after, they have 3 children together. Rob was an over the road truck driver most of his adult life, the last 15 years of which he spent traveling & hauling cattle with his longtime companion Dawn Howell. They loved seeing the countryside together and there isn’t a place in The U.S. he hasn’t been. His fellow truck drivers from across the Southeastern United States only knew of him as RD or “Rocket”, the latter of which he earned for delivering cattle from Florida to Missouri 6 hours ahead of schedule, the nickname stuck ever since. He was great at his job and known for being the first to arrive and fastest to deliver. He was most passionate about cattle hauling and he never shied away from letting everyone know, “If it ain’t a Peterbilt, I ain’t touching it.”

Among many things, Rob will be remembered for his sense of humor and love for playing jokes on people and making them laugh. He had a beautiful singing voice and loved playing the guitar. He loved his four-legged baby Marley immensely and often referred to her as his best friend. Rob also loved kids, but none more than his children and grandchildren, they were truly his pride and joy. Rob passed from this life unexpectedly but was blessed with having Dawn and Marley by his side. Though he wasn’t surrounded by all his loved ones, Dawn will forever cherish their memories together and the last words he spoke, “Tell my kids I love them”.

He is survived by his children, Amanda, Joey and Eric Dahmer as well as Dawn’s children, Megan, Amanda and J.D. He is also survived by grandchildren Malachi, Jeremih, Khai, and Michael “Mikey”, Klynsdae, Brennen, Kami, Zien, Tray, Blaykie, Adrian, Dominic, and Anaiyah. He is also survived by his longtime companion Dawn, his 4 siblings Don (Donna) Dahmer, Tracy (Ronnie) Fancher, Cory (Amy) Dahmer, Carrie Green, and numerous nieces and nephews. To know him was to love him. Rob was preceded in death by his mother Marinda “Tin” Dahmer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 at the Nevada Elks on Saturday, November 13, 2021.
