Obituary - Edna Amos

Edna Amos, 75 of Nevada, Missouri passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 at her home in Nevada, surrounded by loved ones. Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm Monday, November 22, 2021 in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. 

A visitation will held Monday prior to the graveside from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler (660-679-0009). Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.

Edna Lucile Amos was born January 8, 1946 in Madera, California to Richard and Agnes Stubbs Amos. She spent part of her life living in Tennessee with her husband and sons before moving with her family to Butler, Missouri, where she spent her last years with her son Tim.

Edna enjoyed her morning coffee while doing word searches, she loved to sew, paint, and work on crafts. She also enjoyed a good game of Rummy with her son Keven.

There are many wonderful things that can be said about Edna. Most of all she was an amazing woman, beautiful inside and out, and always able to bring a smile to your face. She was stubborn, yet funny, and always told you like it was. Edna was a generous soul and gave so much to the people she loved. She loved her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, they all meant the world to her.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Elwood Ross, sons Timothy Eugene Ross, and Keith Owen Ross, along with a grandson, Anthony Scott Ross. She is survived by her son Keven James Ross, grandchildren, Timothy, Kristina, Dustin, Ethan, Killian, and Dylan, great-grandchildren, Anthony, Destiny, Abigail, Aubrianna, Jayden, Wyatt, Taylor, Oaklynn, Remington, Cerenity, and Brianna.

Obituary - Kasey Allen Dye

Kasey Allen Dye, age 30, a resident of Neligh, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021, in Ft. Scott, Kansas where he had been working on a wind farm project. 

He was born February 21, 1991, in Urbana, Illinois, the son of Paul Edward Dye and Pamela Kay Adams. Kasey married Chelsy Grim on February 22, 2021, in Pierce, Nebraska. 

Kasey was an accomplished mechanic and had worked for several years for Malta Ready Mix where he helped construct wind turbines throughout the Midwest. He enjoyed spending time outdoors especially fishing, camping and riding four wheelers. He also loved to barbeque and spend time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Chelsy, of the home in Neligh, Nebraska; and his children, Owen and Whitley, Hudson, Austin, Riley, Cooper and Max, Also surviving are his parents, Pamela Paulding and Paul Dye (Mary), all of Illinois, brothers, Kevin Paulding, Andrew Dye, Gentury Swyear, Waylon Paulding, Jason Parks and Kevin Parks and sisters, Jessica Goberson, Val Paulding, Ashely Dye and Cheyanne Dye. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Kevin Paulding and a nephew, Clayton.

Following cremation, a celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 3rd at the KC Hall, 115 S. Second St., Elgin, Nebraska. A time for food and fellowship will follow the service. Private burial will take place at a later date in Illinois. Arrangements in Kansas were handled by the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Ft. Scott.



Obituary - Suzan Parks

Suzan Parks, 65 of Archie, Missouri passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri. 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler (660-679-0009). 

A visitation will be held prior to the service Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am, also at the funeral home. 

Burial will follow in West Point Cemetery, Amsterdam, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital.

Obituary - George Herbert Eaton

George Herbert Eaton, age 83, La Cygne, Kansas passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021.

Memorial service will be 4 pm Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the La Cygne Christian Church. Visitation will be from 3 pm to service time at the church.

Drexel Bobcats set to play in the 8-Man State Semi Final Football Playoff on November 26th

The Drexel Bobcats won a District 1 8-Man Football Championship last night with a 90-42 win over the Archie Whirlwinds.

The Bobcats will take their undefeated record on the road Friday night November 26th as they travel to play the King City Wildkats in the 8-Man State Playoff Semi Final.

The winner of King City and Drexel will play the winner of Worth County and North Shelby.

We would like to wish the Bobcats good luck!!! 


Butler Junior High Wrestling Results 11/20

The Butler Junior High Wrestling Team traveled to Lone Jack for a tournament today.

Obituary - Glenda May Carlini

Glenda May Carlini, 92, Nevada, MO passed from this life on Friday, November 19, 2021 at her home in Nevada. Glenda was born May 7, 1929 in Bronaugh, MO to Glen and Gertrude (Zilliox) Stewart. She married Bill Carlini in Ft. Scott, KS on June 1, 1947 and he survives of the home.

Glenda grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School with the Class of 1947. She worked for many years at Nelly Don in Nevada and later in food service for the Nevada R-5 School District for several years.

Glenda traveled all over the country with Bill when he worked in pipeline construction. She had her pilot’s license and enjoyed flying as well as gardening and working in her yard. Glenda was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Nevada.

In addition to her husband Bill, she is survived by two grandsons, Brad Evans (Jennifer), and Matt Evans (Sara), of Richland, MO; five great-grandchildren, Zach Evans, Sadie Evans, Lane Evans, Ethan Evans, and Cooper Evans; one sister, Daisy Mahurin, Lee’s Summit, MO; sister-in-law, Maxine Sloan, Nevada, MO; and daughter-in-law, Doris McGrath, Nevada, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Deanna Evans; her son, Sam Carlini; one brother, Eddie Stewart; and her brother-in-law, Wally Sloan.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with Pastors Terry Mosher and Mark Mitchell officiating.

Memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
