The Butler Junior High Wrestling Team competed at El Dorado Springs tonight. Another great night!

Obituary - William Lee McNeil

William Lee McNeil, 73, Bronaugh, MO passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO following a brief illness. Bill was born November 17, 1948, in Cody, WY to Thayne W. and Lea L. (Wright) McNeil.

The farming/ranching family moved to their Bronaugh farm in 1966. Bill graduated from Bronaugh High School in 1968. He was always a hard worker and mechanically inclined, eventually settling in Windsor, MO working for Clearfield Cheese as an over the road trucker. He lived in Cascade, MT for several years, working as an equipment mechanic traveling with oil pipelines. Bill returned to Bronaugh to help care for his elderly parents until their passing. He resided with his wife and boys at their farm.

Bill was a jovial man who loved to tease and joke with everyone and was always willing to lend a hand if needed. He enjoyed hunting, and especially fishing, mechanic work for family and friends, spending time with his family, and tending his livestock.

He married Pamela Connelly in 2010 and she survives of the home. Bill is also survived by his children, William Lee McNeil, II, of Versailles, MO, and Payton McNeil of the home; two step-sons, Tucker Connelly of the home, and Jesse Jenkins (Kelly) of Nevada; one sister, Thaylee Rourk (Russell); and one brother, Carey McNeil (Diane), Bronaugh; a nephew, Matt Layher (Lori), Bronaugh; two nieces, Ashley Banes (Brent), Bronaugh, Elise Duvall (John), Fairway, KS; and numerous great nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a stepson, Cody Jenkins.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021, at Worsley Cemetery in Bronaugh with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family c/o Ferry Funeral Home.

Carrie Anne Main, age 54 of Butler, Missouri died Monday, November 22, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born September 19, 1967 to Leonard Dwain and Linda Kay Cole Breiner in Butler.

Carrie is survived by two sons, David Main and wife Melissa and Derek Main all of Butler, Missouri; her mother, Linda Blaser of Butler, Missouri; father, Dwain Breiner and wife Mary of Meridian, Idaho; one sister, Nora Breiner of Butler, Missouri; two brothers, Dennis Breiner and wife Cyndi and Kenneth Breiner and wife Ellisa all of Butler, Missouri; three stepsisters, Debi Foster and husband Dan of Kansas City, Missouri, Susan McCracken of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Kelsee Pierce and husband Steve of Smithville, Missouri; a stepbrother, Ben Blaser and wife Susan of Lawson, Missouri; one granddaughter, Chloe; and nephews, nieces and other relatives. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Maxville; stepfather, Bud Blaser; and stepbrother Karl Blaser.

Judith Lee Leonard, age 88 of Butler, Missouri passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Medicalodge of Butler surrounded by her family. Judith was born March 21, 1933 to Wayne Lester and Lena Frances Sutton Stone in Pleasanton, Kansas.

Judith is survived by a son, Kevin W. Leonard of Butler, Missouri; daughter, Kathy R. Leonard of Nevada, Missouri; granddaughter, Erika L Catron of Nevada, Missouri; and a great-granddaughter, Autumn R. Cowley of Nevada, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lena Frances Stone; father, Wayne Lester Stone; and brother, Gary Stone.

Accidental shooting at Bent Tree Harbor in Warsaw

This morning, November 23, 2021 at approximately 4:16 AM Benton County Central Dispatch received a call from an address in the Bent Tree Harbor subdivision in Warsaw reporting an accidental shooting.

Deputies arrived on scene to start life saving measures on Tarah D. McIntyre, 28, of the residence but were unable to revive her.

Jason L. Kroenke, 25, of the same residence, was taken into custody on a 24-hour investigative hold while a further investigation is being conducted. I will keep you updated as information becomes available

Obituary - Neta Lee (Montgomery) Leonard

Neta Lee Leonard, age 69, of Pleasanton, Kansas passed away Friday, November 19, 2021. She was born on July 2, 1952 at Lincoln, Kansas, the daughter of Dee and Delores Hall Montgomery. Neta was a nurse over the years. 

She enjoyed doing genealogy, video games, camping, fishing and hunting (so to speak). She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Larry. Neta is survived by two sons, Franklin and Larry Leonard, a sister, Brenda Davis, one granddaughter, Hannah and a great grandson, Noah.

Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Sunday, November 28, 2021 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Obituary - George Herbert Eaton

George Herbert Eaton, age 83, La Cygne, Kansas passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021. He was born on April 18, 1938 in El Reno, Oklahoma. He graduated from El Reno High School and attended Johnson County Community College obtaining certification as an automobile mechanic. He was united in marriage to Connie Hampton on January 23, 1960.

George was a member of the La Cygne Christian Church. His faith in God and Family were foremost in his life. He was a very patriotic gentleman. He was a man of many talents. He made jewelry, worked with leather, painted landscapes, enjoyed cooking, made his own wine and beer.

He liked to water ski, was a big Oklahoma University fan, and was a musician, singing, and playing banjo and flute. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvern and Beatrice Bruce, a brother, Carl Eaton, and a sister, Mary Lackey. George is survived by his wife Connie, two daughters, Pamala Haupt and husband Mark, and Kristy Tatum, two brothers, Otis and Burl Bruce, a sister, Fran Eaton, five grandchildren, Jason Haupt and wife Alicia, Justin Haupt and wife Brianna, Michelle Haupt-McCool and husband Michael, Zach Tatum and Kaylee Tatum, and nine great grandchildren, Darci, Kelsee, Jeremiah, Brynnlea, Westin and Presley Haupt, and Hunter, Colton and Hallie McCool.

Memorial service will be 4 pm Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the La Cygne Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 3 pm to service time at the Church.
