Light snow possible: Wednesday Night-Thursday AM
Don't be fooled, however. Even these minor accumulations will cause some headaches for the Thursday morning commute. In addition, cold temperatures and breezy winds will lead to dangerous wind chills Thursday morning.

Richard had been a season ticket holder for many years and many friends Rusty Reed, Mel Gulliford, Sandy Norcross, Brent Mendenhall just to name a few, were always willing to drive him since he was unable to drive due to losing partial eyesight several years ago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Angie Perry, many cousins and special friends, Doug Cambell, Regar Todd, and Coach John McNeley as well as Kelly Branham who all shared their love of Nevada sports, Missouri Tigers and last but not least Kansas City Chiefs.
Richard attended all 12 years plus kindergarten in the Nevada R-5 School District. He attended PSU 2 plus years and later received his Bachelors’ Degree from Missouri Southern State University. Many of you know him through his various work. He worked at the Nevada Hab Center, History Teacher and Coach, El Dorado Springs, MO (coaching was his FAVORITE of any positions he held). After teaching he decided to start his own home construction business which he continued until his health did not allow. After retirement he started writing his weekly column for the Nevada Daily Mail and I know many of you have enjoyed reading them over years and he received many compliments, which he greatly appreciated. Richard was a very gifted man with a great memory for anything historical. He was also President of the Men’s Senior Golf League at the Nevada City Golf Course. He actually played with the Senior group on Tuesday, December 14th, before he entered the hospital the next morning.
Memorials are suggested in his name to Nevada R-5 Foundation c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
No services are planned at this time.

Welcome back Butler Elementary Students
Construction is still ongoing with the new entrance, office area, and new HVAC in half of the building. Because of this, some of our classrooms and hallways are colder than others. Please have your child dress in layers and long pants so they are comfortable throughout the day.
The majority of our building is comfortable and we are taking measures to warm up the areas that are colder, but we would appreciate your help with this.
Below is the recess policy for cold weather:
Students go outside for recess whenever possible. In cold weather, we carefully watch the temperature and go outside when it is 25 degrees or warmer (including wind chill factor). Please be sure that students have appropriate cold weather clothing. Outer wear such as coats, hats, and gloves should be marked with the child’s name or initials. If your child is in need of a warm coat please let our Counselor or Principal’s office know.
If you have any questions at all please let me know. You can reply to this email or call me at 660-679-6591. I look forward to seeing our students in the morning!
