Bates County Sheriff Anderson presented a $15,000 check to the Bates County Fair Youth Council and to the Bates County Fair Board

On 6/6/2022, Bates County Sheriff Anderson presented a $15,000 check to Bates County Fair Youth Council and to the Bates County Fair Board. This check was a collaboration among the Sheriffs Office and those boards to invest in our youth programs for the 2022 Fair year. These programs help encourage and support our next generation of ranchers, farmers and producers.

This check was one of many financial investments the Sheriff’s Office issued to include sponsorships to many summer youth programs as part of our Community Policing Program. The Sheriff’s Office has made financial donations to summer sports leagues to include soccer, football, swim team, basketball, fishing team, wrestling and baseball.

“Our goal is to encourage kids to put down the phone, get outside and meet other kids and enjoy what summer has to offer”, says Sheriff Anderson. “We are investing in our greatest assets, our youth. We are proud to be involved in our community and as long as our budget supports it we will continue to invest in our youth programs”.

Nevada Regional Medical Center Galaxy Award for this month

Rather than recognizing a special Nevada Regional Medical Center  Department for our Galaxy Award this month, we’d like to recognize all those who helped out with Hospital Week during the second week of May.

There are too many names to list, but some cooked and served food at the picnic, some served ice cream and some organized a scavenger hunt. Others handed out prizes from the employee drawings and some distributed new employee cups.

Some of the maintenance men helped set up tents and banners at the golf tournament, while other staff helped with registration, food, snacks, photography, clean up and special contests on the day of the tournament.

To all of these NRMC employees who created a fun and busy hospital week, we say a hearty “Thank you!” You all made our week an enjoyable one!

Pictured here are just a few of the hospital week helpers. From the left in the back are Karl Bloomfield, Mike Holder and James Spears. On the front row from the left are Candace Hampton, Jessica Collier, Jennifer Eaton, Jodee Mashek, Tim Wilson and David Sparks.
