Warming trend through the 4th of July

Morning showers will depart through the mid to late morning, leaving the rest of today mostly dry.

Warming temperatures expected for Monday and the 4th of July, but conditions should remain dry.

Update: Standoff ends peacefully in Belton

On Saturday afternoon at approximately 3:42 p.m. the Belton Police Department was called to he area of Old Town, south of Main Street on the report of a 55 year old female with suicidal ideations, possibly under the influence, pointed what appeared to be a rifle towards a Belton Officer and retreated back inside the residence.

A Cass County Crisis Negotiator was called to the scene in an attempt to have the subject come out peacefully.

Belton Officers along with Belton Swat, Cass County Swat, Raymore Swat worked together and took the subject into custody safely at 7:07 p.m.

Butler man arrested on warrants in Bates County

On Friday June 30th around 7:40 p.m. the Bates County Sheriff's Office arrested 40 year old Keith A. Hopkins Jr. of Butler, Missouri.

Mr. Hopkins was arrested on the following failure to appear in court warrants 1.) Unlawful use of a weapon-Subsection 4-Exibiting -Bond $2,000 cash/surety 2.) 1st Degree Harassment- Bond $2,000 cash/surety 3.) 1st Offense Violation of an adult order of protection -Bond $2,000 4.) 2nd Degree Property Damage -Bond $2,000.

Keith A. Hopkins Jr. was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and he is currently listed as bondable.

Raymore man seriously injured in UTV crash

On Saturday July 1st the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Hickory County along with Hickory County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a UTV accident on CR 273 around 1 mile south of Hermitage, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the eastbound 2021 Polaris Ranger UTV driven by 20 year old Matthew C. Quest of Raymore, Missouri ran off the roadway on a curve and overturned.

A passenger in the UTV 20 year old Jacob W. Quest of Raymore, Missouri sustained serious injuries and he was transported by air ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri for treatment.

Teen seriously injured after St. Clair County crash

On Friday June 30th around 4:43 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in St. Clair County along with St. Clair County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on SE 801 Road around 2 miles west of Collins.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the southbound 2018 Kawasaki operated by a 14 year old male juvenile struck the side of a northbound 1997 Ford Club Wagon driven by 59 year old Billy T. Howard of Collins.

The teenager was taken to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar for treatment of serious injury.
