Steiner’s Restaurant and Bar set to open Monday July 24th

Finally its time... 

We are excited to announce that effective Monday, July 24th at 11 a.m. we will be open for business! 

While our goal is to ensure you have a great experience, we do appreciate your patience and understanding as our team works together to learn new systems and processes. We look forward to serving the community. See you Monday!

Hours of Operation:
Please join us for lunch and dinner 11 AM - 9 PM Monday, Wednesday & Thursday; 11 AM - 10 PM Friday & Saturday; and for an exquisite breakfast buffet on Sundays only starting at 7AM followed by lunch until 2 PM. Closed Tuesday’s.
Effective on opening day: Monday, July 24, 2023.

El Dorado Springs man arrested on firearms and drug charges in Cedar County

On July 19th 40 year old James Mansell of El Dorado Springs, Missouri was arrested and has been charged in Cedar with two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm. 

He also was in possession of suspected illegal drugs, including suspected methamphetamine and related paraphernalia. Felony drug charges are pending test results from the lab.

Mansell is being held in the Cedar County jail on a $20,000 cash only bond.

Another fine example of our Cedar County Deputies working hard to protect the people of this county. Arresting officers were Justin Daniels and Garrett Lukenbill. Great job guys!

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.



BCSO end of summer family fun day August 19th

Bring the kids out for a fun day! This is the third annual family fun day. These are volunteers that work with the Bates County Sheriff’s Office as 1 team to give back to the community. Investing in the best assets our community has to offer our families and children!



Obituary - Diana Lynn Ellis

Diana Lynn Ellis, age 60, of Hume, Missouri, passed away at her home on Monday, July 17, 2023. She was born the daughter of David & Tony Calabro Byfield on October 23, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Diana enjoyed going to casinos. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son, Alex. 

She is survived by son, Joseph Ellis and two brothers, Darrell and David Byfield. There are no services scheduled at this time.

Obituary - Donald A Sieker

Donald A Sieker age 86 passed away July 19, 2023 at his home in Garden City, MO. He was born June 5, 1937 to Adolph and Mary Margarette (Stocklaufer) Sieker.

Donald graduated from Garden City high school and remained a lifelong resident of Garden City, MO.

When he was 18 years old, he bought his first farm. He loved farming and raised cattle, hogs, corn, wheat, beans, and alfalfa hay.

Donald enjoyed his family, many friends, and his daily conversation with his sister, Lavada. Eating breakfast at the local restaurants was one of his favorite pastimes.

Donald is survived by his sister Lavada Finke, a niece Jennifer Lanigan, and two great nieces, Katherine Christine and Elizabeth Margaret Lanigan, and many family members and friends

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Mary Sieker, a sister Helen Sieker, a nephew, Christopher Lanigan, and a brother-in- law, David Finke.

Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with internment at Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.

Family will receive friends 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
