William Lee Dameron, age 75, of Garden City, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
In accordance with William’s wishes, there will be no public services planned.
William was born in Harrisonville, Missouri on January 6, 1948 to Robert Dameron and Betty (Wallace). William worked in Kansas City for many years operating a restaurant. In life he loved being on the road and one of his favorite destinations was Galveston, Texas.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty; and his first and favorite wife, Carol Dameron (Frost).
He is survived by his son, Robert Dameron (Brandi) and step-son William Hensley; six siblings, Sandy Dameron, Geri (Dameron) Conklin, Teresa (Dameron) DeWitt, David Parscale, Annette (Parscale) Moore, and Boyd Parscale; and two grandchildren, Katherine Dameron and Robert Dameron Jr.

41 year old Robert Graham has been charged with 1st degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.
20 year old Isiaiah Eden has been charged with 1st degree assault, 4th degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.
All subjects are being held in the Cass County Jail, and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

At 04:14 a.m. Sunday September 11th the Peculiar Police Department responded to the 200 block of Shari Drive on the call of multiple gunshots fired into a residence from the outside. Fortunately, nobody was struck or hurt.

Joanne Griffith Durbin, 77, Harrisonville, MO, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023 at the Belton Regional Medical Center in Belton, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Burial to follow in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Summit Christian Academy in Lee’s Summit, MO.
Joanne was born September 26, 1945 in Butler, MO, a daughter of Theodore Ray and Opal Jeraldine (Sigler) Griffith. Her first nine years, she was raised on a farm west of Archie, MO, and in 1954 her family moved to Harrisonville. She was a 1963 graduate of Harrisonville High School. On February 14, 1967, JoAnne was united in marriage to Errol F. Durbin in the Christian Church in Enid, OK. To this union, they had one daughter, Brenda Michelle.
Joanne was a charter member of the Church on the Rock in Harrisonville. The one thing that was most important to Joanne was her faith and love for the Lord. It was her faith that sustained her since the time she was 21. She poured her time into her daughter, and granddaughter and great-grandchildren, creating special memories and traditions, but of the utmost important, a strong faith in the Lord.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Evelyn. She is survived by her husband, Errol Durbin; daughter, Brenda Cox and her husband, Craig; granddaughter, Brooke Winfrey and her husband, Andrew; 5 grandchildren, her pride and joy, Emma, Parker, Grant, Hudson, and Beckham; and one sister, Dorothy Minick.

A Cedar County woman was arrested last week on assault charges.
The El Dorado Springs Police Department reports officers arrested 40 year old Falen Andrews on Wednesday, September 6th for the probable cause of first degree assault and first degree property damage.

Officers received a Cedar County warrant charging Andrews with first degree property damage with a $15,000 cash bond.

Ronald Morris Hillson, age 82, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023.
A graveside service will be held at Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
Ronald was born in San Diego, California on January 1, 1941, to Harold Hillson and Lorraine (DeGreave) Hillson. After graduating high school, Ronald served his country in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard until 1962. This is where he began learning the trade of plumbing. He continued plumbing for over 50 years and had his own business. Ronald enjoyed hunting, reading, and being outside. Ronald especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. Ronald also liked watching Joel Osteen's services.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lorraine Hillson; twin brother, Donald Hillson; brother, Leonard Hillson; and maternal grandparents, Charles and Lillian DeGreave.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Karen Hillson; two daughters, Kristi Kilton (Alfred Ramirez) and Sandi Freidhof (Kent); grandchildren, Rian Freidhof (Georgia), Paige VanderLinden (Derek), and Brittni Kilton; and one great-grandson Graham VanderLinden.
