Obituary - Barbara “Babs” Miller
Barbara “Babs” Miller would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call from Jesus, a new adventure that she couldn’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with the love of her life, John Miller, and friends she has not seen in a long while.
Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be continuing her social engagements, dancing, gardening and storytelling. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain an ounce. She left detailed instructions for her family and friends to celebrate her mission here, which has been completed.
We give thanks to God for her boundless generosity, the beauty of her many creations and the radiant kindness she bestowed upon the world.
Babs’s memory is carried on by her two daughters, Victoria Blume and Cheryl Clifton and son in laws Matt Blume and Packy Clifton, her grandchildren: Charlie, Emmett and Georgia Blume and Philip Clifton. A final send-off will be held at 11:00AM at St. Sabina Catholic Church in Raymore, Missouri on Thursday, December 21, 2023. In lieu of cards or flowers, we ask that you honor Babs’ last wishes by making a donation to https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-debbie-to-save-her-eyesight?utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link_all&utm_source=customer

When Roy returned from stationing in OrlĂ©ans, France with the US Army, they moved to North Hollywood CA. They returned back to Nevada and while Roy spent his days driving a truck, she spent her days making their farm house a loving home, caring for her Mother, children and grandchildren, cooking, daily farm chores, gardening and canning. They were famous for canned beats, green onion/tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, corn on the cob, oatmeal cake, noodles and Jones tacos. They moved to their farm in 1965, raising cattle and custom haying, collecting Farmall Tractors along the way. She worked beside Roy daily on their farm. Their years were spent together mowing, baling, hauling and stacking thousands of small square bales of hay in the hottest time of the year. Sometimes they could be seen getting in the third cutting of hay in October. They were married 60 years before Roy’s farm accident in 2013.
She was a lifelong member of the Nevada Assembly of God church. Spending countless hours volunteering, cleaning, and caring for her church and its members. She thanked the Lord for every day He gave her and always asked for His protection and guidance for her family. She will be missed more than words can express.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Newton Burial Park in Nevada with Pastor Jeff Owen officiating.

Dear Countywide Disposal Customers
Dear Countywide Disposal Customers,
We want to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. With the holiday season upon us, the volume of trash, and especially cardboard will increase.
Please help your hard working trashman this holiday season by breaking down your cardboard to fit all you can inside your trashcan. Some routes run with an automated truck; having to drive and get out several hundred times is very time consuming and tiring on a driver.
Routes will be running a day later this year the week of Christmas and New Years. If your trash day falls on a Friday, we will be by on Saturday.
Thank you kindly for your support as we greatly appreciate your loyalty to our Countywide Team.
Thank you,
Lee McLain
