Obituary - Clarence Lee Miller
An avid Star Trek fan, Clarence Loved the holidays, baking, cooking, gardening, and being able to share his passions with the ones he loved. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, a special friend, Jimmy Wolverton, two brothers, Larry and Oscar Miller, and a sister Bessie Rich. Clarence is survived by a sister, Betty Jackson, a brother, Richard Miller and wife Janice, a niece, often perceived as his sister, Konnie Reed and husband Bobby, and his faithful dog, Athena. Clarence also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews who all meant the world to him.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. The burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 am, an hour before service Friday at the La Cygne Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Olathe Hospice. Obituary - Jamie Lee Stark
A celebration of Jamie’s life will be held with a visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17th 2024 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083.
Jamie was born in Brighton, Missouri on August 5, 1932 to Harry Armstrong and Ruth E. (Tendel) Slagle. For most of Jamie’s life she was a homemaker until later in life, was a business owner of a cosmetic company. Jamie was a faithful member of Rock Brook Church in Belton, Missouri and a long standing member of the Eagle’s Lodge in Raymore, Missouri.
Jamie is survived by her two children, Jim Dodd and Linda Dodd; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Shots fired in rural Pleasanton
Later in the day, Citizens discovered damage to two properties east of the area where shots were heard, the landowners then reported the incident to the Sheriff’s Office. The damage was to a pickup truck and damage to a home.
An investigation was made into the incident and is still ongoing. We have learned that three persons were engaged in target practicing, and possibly were not considering what was beyond their target.
Upon the completion of this investigation, the matter will be provided to the Linn County Attorney, to consider any criminal charges.

Stabbing incident in Linn County Kansas
The white male then forced the Citizen to drive him to LaCygne, Ks. at knife point. During the drive the Citizen abruptly stopped the vehicle and had an altercation with the suspect where the Citizen was stabbed.
The suspect exited the vehicle and ran away from the scene. The Citizen returned to Parker and met with Linn County Deputies and medical services. In the morning hours of May 6, 2024, the white male was located by another Linn County Citizen, the suspect was known to the Citizen and transported to Miami County. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office was notified of this situation.
Miami County authorities were notified and located the white male and he was taken into custody. Linn County Sheriff’s personnel transferred the white male who is identified as Damien Scott Patterson to the Linn County Jail where he will await formal charges. Parker Police responded to assist with the incident.
Obituary - Nancy Marie McGlochien
Nancy was very skilled at knitting, sewing, crocheting, and counted cross stitch. She made many beautiful pieces which she gave to friends and family members. She was known as "the hat lady" to Joplin NICU's for over 15 years, she made almost 6,000 crocheted hats for premature babies. She loved to dance and was a longtime member of the Tanglefooters where she known as “What’s Her Name”. Her love of gardening showed with all of the beautiful plants that were in her yard. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Nancy is survived by three daughters, Mickey Oetken and husband Jeff of Willis, Texas, Tammey Ward of Nevada, Missouri, and Melissa Gay McGlochien of Nevada, Missouri. Five grandchildren, Todd Murray and wife Michelle of Nevada, Missouri, Brooke Moreland and husband Thomas of Conroe, Texas, Whitney Oetken of Omaha, Nebraska, Nathan Pettibon and wife Tiffani of Kansas City, Kansas, and Onyx Yasuhara of Joplin, Missouri. She has seven great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
Graveside committal services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Nevada Missouri Animal Shelter at 3200 Industrial Pkwy, Nevada, Missouri 64772.
