Obituary - LaDonna Mae Norris

Funeral services for LaDonna Norris of Richmond, Kansas formerly of Amoret, Missouri will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri.

LaDonna Mae Norris, age 88 of Richmond, Kansas formerly of Amoret, Missouri died Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Richmond Healthcare and Rehab Center. She was born February 10, 1936 to Ortha Ray and Velma Louise West Ridley in Amoret, Missouri.

LaDonna is survived by two sons, Terry Norris and wife Kathy of Garnett, Kansas and Ronnie Norris of Nevada, Missouri; a daughter Bonnie Norris of Nevada, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phola Hill of Dayton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Norris; and her children, Jerry, Gary, Ricky, Cindy and Jimmy.

Parks finishes track career stong for Bobcats

Drexel High School Senior Josie Parks places 3rd in the 200m with a time of 26.25 secs.

What a great track career this girl has had in her four years. A State Championship in 2022 and a Second Place in 2023.

State Champion in the 4x100m Relay in 2022 and State Champion in the 100m this year.

Obituary - Michael Shane Sidebottom

Michael Shane Sidebottom, 48, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 18, 2024, with a visitation at 1:00pm at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.

Michael was born September 11, 1975 in Harrisonville, Missouri, a son of Charles Allen and Vera Jeanne (Tieman) Sidebottom. He was a lifelong Harrisonville resident. Mike worked for Creative Contours Lawn Service in Peculiar, MO.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles A. Sidebottom, and one nephew, Zachary Allen Burton. Mike is survived by his mother, Vera Jeanne Sidebottom, Harrisonville; a sister, Heather R. Burton, Harrisonville; two nephews, Leo D. Arthur and Eric J. Arthur; one niece, Mary J. Arthur; and many other relatives and friends.

Carolyn ‘Suzy’ West was born May 3, 1951 to Leo West and Beulah James.

She loved fishing, Halloween, and anything horror related, and was an avid paranormal investigator. What Suzy treasured most in life was her family. She had a special bond with her great-niece, Blakely (“Buttons” as Aunt Suzy would call her.)

Suzy is proceeded in death by her parents; Leo West, and Beulah and Ed James and sister Deborah Kagarice.

She is survived by sister; Pat Meyers of Butler, MO, Nephew; Kevin (Paige) Kagarice of Butler, MO, niece; Tonya Holloway of Michigan, a great-neice Blakely “Buttons” Kagarice, also of Butler, MO and a host of many close family and friends

Dubray State Champion In The Shot Put

We would like to congratulate Butler High School Freshman Kylee DuBray who won the Class 2 State Championship today in the Shot put. Kylee threw the shot put 11.79m to win today! 

She is the daughter of Kyle and Erin Dubray! Way to go Kylee!
