Rich Hill 4th of July Carnival pre-sale wristbands on sale starting today!

Carnival pre-sale wristbands are for sale at Food Fair starting today! $25 pre-sale, they will be $30 each at the carnival. 

Pre-sale tickets are available until noon on July 3 or until sold out. Fun Time Shows is the carnival, same carnival as last year.

We do not know what rides they will bring, they should start setting up on Monday July 1st. One wristband is good for one night of unlimited rides for 4 hours.
 
Most likely hours will be 6-10pm each night but could change depending on the weather. All sales are non-refundable!

Obituary - Jacob Allen Bogard

Jacob Allen Bogard, age 42, of Blue Mound, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 6, 2024.

A celebration of Jacob’s life will be held with a visitation from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083.

Jacob was born in Kankakee, Illinois on April 7, 1982, to Bobby J. Bogard and Cynthia L. (Friant) Bogard. He was preceded in death by his brother, Nathaniel Bogard.

Here to cherish his memory are his three children, Jacoby, Kaiden, and Danica Bogard; half-brother, Matthew Bogard; sister-in-law, Ashley Bogard; and niece and nephew, Brock and Hannah Bogard.

Obituary - Sharlene Wirsig

Sharlene Wirsig, age 72, of Clinton, Missouri passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Truman lake Manor in Lowry City, Missouri. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel in Clinton with visitation from 12:00-1:00 PM prior to the service.

Burial to follow in Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, Missouri. Memorial contributions can be made to C.A.R.E. (Clinton Animal Rescue Endeavor) and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Endangered Silver Advisory - Benton County Sheriff's Office - John Grant

State of Missouri Endangered SILVER Advisory...

The Benton County Sheriff's Office has issued an Endangered SILVER Advisory for a missing adult that occurred at 31535 Highway 83, Warsaw, MO at 3:00 p.m. on 06/09/2024.

The endangered SILVER advisory missing adult is:

John Grant, a white, male, age 82, hgt 5'8", 140 lbs, gray hair, blue eyes. Unique characteristics: Left leg limp

Diagnosed Medical Condition(s): Dementia and diabetes

Vehicle Information:
Black 2012 Ford Fusion bearing MO, ZE3G1E

Brief circumstances regarding the Endangered Silver Person incident:

Grant left his hotel advising he was heading to the family farm in southwest Missouri. He only had a quarter tank of gas in his vehicle, and he left his wallet and other belongings at the hotel. Possibly heading to ACDC Farms in Lamar or Liberal, MO.

Anyone seeing the missing person, or vehicle, or anyone having any information related to the endangered missing person should immediately dial 911 to contact the nearest law enforcement agency or call the Benton County Sheriff's Office at (660) 438-9555.

Update: Mr. Grant was located safe.


Clinton man seriously injured in Bates County crash

On Sunday June 9th around 8:25 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies, Bates County EMS and the Rich Hill Fire Department responded to a one vehicle accident on B Highway and CR SE 1485 Road around 3 miles east of Rich Hill.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the eastbound 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 40 year old Michael C. Jackson of Clinton, Missouri cross the centerline and traveling off the left side of the roadway then striking several trees.

Mr. Jackson sustained serious injuries and he was transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

New police officer welcomed in Clinton


Welcome POLICE OFFICER Nathanial Cothern! Officer Cothern has been with the Clinton Police Department since December 2023. Last night Officer Cothern graduated the UCM Police Academy and will start his road position on Monday morning. Updated Obituary - Jacob Britton Whiteside

Jacob Britton Whiteside age 41, departed this life on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024 in Butler, Missouri. His life was centered in Archie, Missouri. Jake was born March 31st,1983, the first son of Leslie and Jennie Whiteside. Jake’s childhood was filled with energy, creativity, and a love of nature. He had a passion for fishing, dancing, and tearing stuff up to see how it worked. 

He attended Archie High School and Building Trades at Cass Career Center. He graduated in 2002 and was given a national recognition award for his service to others. Jake grew up in Cub and Boy Scouts and pulled the rest of the family into a Scouting life. 

He earned his Eagle Scout in 2000 and was well known in the Scouting District for his creative problem solving. This ability affected his career choice, and after attaining many skills, he formed his own business “Whiteside Remodeling” which he maintained for 11 years, and later became a journeyman carpenter.

Jake had a strong desire to “help others at all times”. He was outgoing, sensitive, and was not afraid to jump in and help anyone. He was a team leader in “New York Says Thank You” which was founded after 9-11. This foundation was formed to help people in need and rebuild after tornado/disaster areas across the nation. He also helped rebuild after the Joplin tornado.

Jacob leaves his children, Britton, 18, and Alison, 9, his parents, his brother Jim and wife Jamie and their children Willow, Laurel, Briar, Eden, and Clay, two aunts, Ina Gibbons and Diane Whiteside, cousins, his significant other, Cheryl (C. J.) Vunovich and her children Colby and Abby, and a host of friends from all over the country.

There will be a celebration of life visitation held at the Archie, MO United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Saturday, June 15th from 1:00 p.m. through 4:00 p.m.

A trust fund for Jake’s children is being established and those who wish, can donate at the visitation or make donations payable to Jennie Whiteside 506 W. Ash St., Archie, MO 64725
