Strong to severe storm possible this evening and tonight

This is a challenging forecast for this evening and overnight, with the potential for strong to severe storms. The area may remain capped, which would significantly reduce storm chances.

If storms develop this evening, a few could be severe, with damaging winds and large hail as the main hazards. With so many outdoor events this evening, any storm that develops will be hazardous due to lighting.

The most likely timing for storms across eastern KS and western MO is after seven this evening and then shifting east later in the night/ overnight.
