Update: Amoret man seriously injured after his vehicle was struck by a train
On Saturday November 9th around 1:35 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies and Bates County EMS responded to an accident involving a train and a truck near NW CR 3002 just west of Route Y.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2001 Dodge Dakota driven by a 41 year old male from Amoret, Missouri failed to yield to a 2014 Electromotive Diesel Locomotive driven by a 37 year old male of Pittsburg, Kansas and was struck on the passenger side. Both vehicles came to a controlled stop approximately 1 mile South of the crash scene.
The 41 year old adult male sustained serious injuries and was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Late Friday Night Structure Fire in Adrian
The Adrian Rural Fire Department was dispatched at 2344 hours yesterday to a reported structure fire involving a shop that was fully engulfed with several additional exposures in danger. Adrian Fire responded with seven personnel (2) engines, (1) tanker and (1) rescue unit, and a tanker was requested for mutual aid assistance from Butler and Central Cass Fire Departments.
Our first fire units arrived on the scene at 2354 hours finding a heavy fire load to one structure. Personnel deployed attack lines, and a defensive fire attack was started on the shop while also preventing further fire spread to adjacent structures and equipment. Incident Command placed the fire under control at 0015 hours, and the incident was terminated at 0204 hours.
As always, we thank the Butler and Central Cass fire departments for their quick response and assistance. Our thanks to the Adrian Police Department and the Bates County Sheriff's Department who assisted in so many ways.
There were no injuries, and a cause of fire has not been determined at this time.

Breaking: Train/car collision near Amoret
Authorities and first responders are on the scene of a train vs car accident near CR 3002 and Y highway north of Amoret. Injury status is unknown. Mid America Live will post updates as they become available.
