Next weather system could bring storms on Friday

👉 FRIDAY IS THE DAY to be Weather Aware for sure this week.
🚫 I DO NOT LIKE overly alarmist forecasting almost a week out -- so here is what I think is fair to say as of right now:
⛈ A *very* strong low-pressure system will move across the Midwest.
⛈ All the factors for all the modes of severe weather are there. By 'there,' I mean almost the entire Midwest according to this morning's data (it's March, remember).
👉 So with the exact track of the low uncertain, it's difficult to say where the severe threats are most likely at the moment.
⛈ BUT, with this strong of a system, and so many of the "right" ingredients over such a widespread area, it's hard to imagine there NOT being some very severe weather along the path.
So, as always:
👉 Have several ways to receive severe weather alerts
👉 Be prepared in advance
👉 Stay calm, and I will keep you posted.

High fire danger today

Several local fire departments have been dispatched to grass fires around the area today and as long as temps continue to rise, it will only get worse until things green up a little. Please avoid outdoor burning if at all possible.

Obituary - Earl Daniel "Danny" Brown

Earl Daniel "Danny" Brown, 72, of Harrisonville, Missouri, departed from this world on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, MO. In celebrating Earl's life, family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life at a date to be determined. We invite all who knew Earl to join us in honoring his memory.

Born in Oak Grove, MO, and raised in Lee's Summit, Danny called Harrisonville, MO, home for the last three decades. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose love for family and the great outdoors left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Daniel dedicated 45 years of his life to Unity Village, where he served as a heavy equipment operator on the outdoor maintenance crew. His hard work and quiet dedication contributed greatly to the beauty of the grounds, a reflection of his love for nature. Danny’s laid-back demeanor—sometimes gruff but always loving—was a comfort to those around him. He had a heart full of joy, particularly when he was outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, boating, camping, or simply enjoying the serenity of the lake.

Daniel will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sharon Brown, whom he married on September 27, 2008. He is survived by his children: Travis Tabuas, Richard Brown, and Shelly Brown; as well as, his brother, Terry Brown; his nephew, David Brown; and five cherished grandchildren. The moments he shared with his grandchildren brought him immense joy and were undoubtedly the highlight of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Earl and Alberta Pauline (Murray) Brown.
