As per his request, cremation with no services scheduled at this time; but, the family asks that you honor him in the method of your choice. Donations may be made to the Harrisonville Animal Shelter or American Cancer Society.

Doug graduated from Harrisonville High School in 1981, married Amy (Brown) in 1985, and made Harrisonville their home. Together, Doug and Amy shared a beautiful life and welcomed 2 children, Sara Allyce and Kyle Douglas.

Early in life, Doug spent his summers at the lake skiing, camping, and boating. Later he introduced his son, Kyle, and his friends to "lake life".

Doug went on to have a very successful career working for Hendrick Automotive for more than 25 years. Known to his friends as "Wreckbuilder" he brought skill and passion to every car he fixed. Doug had a love for football, especially the Chiefs, and owned every edition of Madden Football for Playstation ever made. He loved chocolate milk in his coffee and in his younger days was known to eat an entire box of cereal out of a mixing bowl. Doug never met a dog he didn't like, and looked forward to his nightly walks with his pup, Milo. His sense of humor was as unique as he was, and you couldn't help but laugh when you were with him.
