From the Bates County Collector/Treasurer Office

As we start December a few friendly reminders:

Our office hours are 8:30-4:30 closed 12-1 for lunch.
We have a drop box on the east side of our building, you can mail it in, pay over the phone with card until Dec 19th (they charge a convenience fee) or walk it in. Please do not wait till the 31st to mail. It has to be postmarked and unless you walk it in and verify them stamping it you risk it not making it.
Starting Dec 22nd we will not accept card payments over the phone, but we will be staying open thru the lunch hour the last two weeks.
We will close at noon the 24th and will be closed the 25th and 26th to enjoy Christmas with our families.
Please remember not receiving a bill doesn’t excuse you from them. Contact the Assessors Office to make sure your assessment sheet was filled out and the correct mailing address is being used at 660-679-3157.
Please don’t hesitate to call my office with questions at 660-679-3341.
Again taxes are due Dec 31st without penalty and interest!
