Obituary - Joe Charlie Allison

Joe Charlie Allison, age 82, of Prescott, Kansas passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021. Full obituary will be posted soon.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.

An individual in the District has tested positive for COVID-19. As soon as the individual and the District were aware of the situation, the individual self-isolated and has not returned to school.

Though we know you will have many questions and concerns, in order to protect the privacy of the individual involved, the District is incredibly limited as to the information it can share with you; however, if you’d like to ask specific questions regarding any next steps you may need to take, please contact the Cass County Health Department.

News from the Peculiar Police Department
















If you heard some sirens Friday morning near 1st and North, we caught a thief we had been looking for, with the help of Cass County Sheriff’s Office K-9!

The suspect has been charged with burglary and two counts of stealing. Thanks to those citizens who told us where he was hiding!


Harrisonville Wildcats Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony

On September 10, 2021 we will be inducting our 6th Harrisonville Wildcats Football Hall of Fame class. We were not able to induct them last year due to the pandemic.

We have been waiting to honor them on the field at Memorial Stadium where they made their mark on our program.

The ceremony will be held prior to the Homecoming game against Pleasant Hill. Fan's we hope to see you there as we honor Tom Snead, John Culp and Brian Kagarice.

We have taken numerous theft from vehicle reports in the last few weeks. Remember to keep your vehicles locked. Remove items of value from vehicles.

Place items in a safe secure place inside your homes. Don’t leave your vehicles unattended or with keys in them.

One vehicle accident in Cass County

On August 29th around 12:53 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident at Missouri 7 Highway at 235th Street in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1999 Chevrolet Suburban driven by 32 year old Jason L. Thompson of Pleasant Hill, Missouri traveled off the roadway and struck a ditch.

Mr. Thompson sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene of the accident.

Countywide Disposal contracted through the city of Archie now!

Countywide Disposal of Butler has some exciting news to share! The City of Archie has contracted with Countywide Disposal to handle their trash disposal needs. We are greatly honored to have earned this opportunity and look forward to providing great service to the residents of Archie. 

Trash bins have been delivered to all houses as of yesterday. If by chance you did not receive one, please send us a private message or call our office at (660) 679-0717.

We would also like to give a shout-out to Doug Eck (the tip cart guy- for getting us a semi load of containers delivered from Michigan on such short notice), Kustom Signs by Rob for providing us with stickers to place on the tip carts on such short notice, and lastly our employees & friends.  

Our employees are like family and we truly wouldn’t be where we are at today without their dedication and hard work. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!

Attention Butler Residents:

The Butler Police Department has taken numerous theft reports this last week around town. Storage sheds and vehicles seem to be the popular places to break into for local thieves.

Please lock your vehicle and take all valuables out of them also check your storage sheds frequently.
