Barbara graduated from LaTour High School in 1953. After graduation, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she worked at Manor Bakery. It was there that she met Thomas Martin Younger. The two were married on December 22, 1956, beginning a life together rooted in love and family.
Barbara and Thomas were blessed with three daughters: Penny R. Tepesch (Tom), Risa L. Younger, and Lanell M. Younger. Barbara was a devoted mother and a natural caregiver, known for her generous heart, compassion, and unwavering love for those around her. She touched countless lives through her kindness and selflessness and was deeply loved by all who knew her.
Barbara is survived by her daughters Penny, Risa, and Lanell; nine grandchildren: Nick Tepesch (Brittany), Brady Tepesch (Elizabeth), Kyle Hull (Megan), Thomas Logan Hull, Melissa Maher (Jordan), Stephen Jackson (Goldie), Timothy Jackson, Trevor Jackson, and Kristopher Jackson; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Lafoon and Linda Lynch; and three brothers, Bob Hyatt, Mike Hyatt, and Steve Hyatt.
Barbara’s loving spirit, warm heart, and lasting impact will be remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Cremation with a celebration of life service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with inurnment at Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri at a later date.
Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
