Prices going up at DMV

Missouri residents soon could be paying more when they renew drivers' licenses and register their motor vehicles. The current fees are $2.50 for a three-year driver's license and $5.00 for a ten-year operator's permit. A bill approved by the Missouri General Assembly this year would double those fees and double the annual vehicle registration fee from $5.00 to $10.00. The bill is awaiting a decision by governor Jay Nixon.

Morning Weather Update.. Possible 3-5 inches of rain from 7am Wednesday - 7am Saturday

Some of us will see a few scattered showers or even a rumble of thunder this morning, however for many the daytime hours will feature dry and humid conditions.

We'll keep our eyes on areas to the west and southwest this afternoon and evening as a large area of the Western Plains falls under a MODERATE risk for severe storms. Locally, we'll watch these storms develop and track eastward later this afternoon but more likely this evening and overnight. A few of these storms could be strong to perhaps severe as they reach the area, with strong winds, large hail and heavy rainfall the main hazards.

Speaking of rain, areas of northern Missouri received an additional 1-2" of rain overnight. The bad news is that rain chances dramatically increase tonight, Thursday and Friday with the potential for numerous rounds of heavy rain. Check out the projected rainfall totals from HPC on the graphic. 2" to as much as 5" inches of rain will be possible by Saturday morning!
