We've seen a few storms pop up already this morning. These aren't likely to be severe. Storms will re-fire later this afternoon and evening and may produce large hail and/or damaging straight-line winds in eastern Kansas and western Missouri. Admittedly, severe chances aren't great, but it is possible. We'll see these storms around for a few days before we dry out for the rest of the work week. Storms return for the weekend. Figures doesn't it?

People for People PSA
Poverty is
an issue we should all care about.
That’s why the People 4 People coalition was formed. We want to bring members of the community
together to focus on bringing opportunities to individuals in our area. People 4 People wants individuals to reach
their full potential and to thrive in our community.
We know that
amazing things can happen when we all pull together to work on projects that
support our community. To date, members
of People 4 People have worked on several community projects like Christmas for
Kids, Community Food Pantry Food Drive, Drug Take Back Initiatives, Job
Readiness Workshops, Educational Grants, and Child Abuse & Neglect, Suicide
Prevention and Smoking Cessation workshops.
These
projects are just a part of our vision for what we can do in our
community. Our vision includes projects
that help our community gain access to affordable healthcare, find more
affordable housing & energy, increase the availability of quality jobs and
wages, promote quality education and ensure we have adequate food
resources.
There is
much reward in seeing people succeed and thrive. We all like to know we make a
difference. If members and organizations
of the community work together, we have the potential to make positive changes
and influence the way people in our communities live.
If you would
like further information about People 4 People, you may contact Jodi Welston at
the Bates County Health Center at 660-679-6108. The next meeting of People 4 People is
scheduled for June 18th at the Bates County Health Center, 501
Orange Street, Butler at 11:30am. We hope that you will join us for our meeting
and in our fight against poverty.

'God, Guns, & Automobiles' Premieres on History, Monday, July 8 at 10pm
In a small town, he’s a business mogul fueled by hard work,
family values and the Great American Dream…
GOD, GUNS & AUTOMOBILES
New Series Premieres Monday, July 8 at 10 p.m. on HISTORY®
New York, NY, June 3, 2013 – Seven years ago, a stranger pulled into a sleepy farming COMMUNITY somewhere along the Kansas-Missouri border and bought himself a rundown car dealership. Before long, he was king of a business empire built out of adrenaline, family values and red-hot patriotism.
GOD, GUNS & AUTOMOBILES, a new half-hour series premiering Monday, July 8 at 10 p.m. on HISTORY, followsMark Muller and his brother and business partner, Chicago radio personality Eric “Mancow” Muller as they run their throwback auto dealership, Max Motors. Located in the tiny rural town of Butler, Missouri, Muller makes car deals the old fashioned way. A true American Original, he’s fueled by a larger-than-life personality and turbo-charged attitude.
Mark Muller lives by three rules: Do the Right Thing, Let’s Make a Deal, and Live Every Day Like it’s Your Last. He’s been known to blow up cars and stage a fake UFO landing to drive sales…but he’s just as likely to cut a break for a cash-poor farmer in need of a car.
Joined by an oddball staff that work the deals and his wife Amy and sons, Max Motors embodies the values and spirit of the heartland of America.
GOD, GUNS & AUTOMOBILES is produced for HISTORY by Zone3. Austin Reading is Showrunner. Michael Kronish, Isabelle Anouk Bourduas and Michel Bissonnette are Executive Producers for Zone3. Tim Healy is Executive Producer for HISTORY.
