Last night a reported structure fire and robbery which happened within minutes of each other do appear to be related. At approximately 7 p.m., the Adrian Fire Department was summoned to a residence at 5th and Houston on the report of a fire, while almost simultaneously a robbery occurred at the Adrian Dollar Store near the 71 Highway interchange.
According Adrian Police Chief Vic Selle, this fits the behavior of two other robberies that happened at Dollar Stores in Seneca and Holden Mo., where the suspects start a fire as to create a distraction.
The residence suffered moderate damage; there were no injuries reported in either incident.
