Obituary - Ruth Taylor


Ruth Taylor of Belton, MO passed away August 9, 3011. Ruth was born Jan. 21, 1938 in Senath, Mo, the fourth child to Ezra and Ethel (Parker) Malone. Growing up on her family’s farm, she graduated from Senath High School in 1955. She had fond memories and recounted numerous stories working with her sibling in the cotton and watermelon fields for her parents. Ruth was a homemaker most of her life and also worked in retail. She enjoyed sewing, collecting angels and glassware, playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, helping with AWANAS and other church activities. She gave unconditional love to her friends and family.



She was preceded in death by both of her parents; brother, EJ Malone; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Malone and Mary Margaret (Doll) Baker, and son, Steven Haggard. She married and is survived by her husband of 44 years, Harold Taylor; two sons, Don Haggard and Curt Taylor of Belton, Mo; two daughters, Pam Coleman (Billy) of Columbia, Mo and Dana Liston (Darin) of Olathe, Ks; daughter-in-law, Carol Haggard of Butler, Mo; brother, Donal (Bud) Malone of Cardwell, Mo and sister, Jewell Wayne DaVault, of Hollywood, Mo, and numerous nieces and nephews.



Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm, Friday, Aug 12, at Pleasant Prairie Baptist Church, 215th and Y Hwy, Belton, Mo 64012. Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, Aug 13, at the church. Graveside services will follow at 3 pm in the Memorial Garden Cemetery in Warrensburg, Mo 64093.
