Update on weather Wednesday and Thrusday

 The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill held a briefing at 11am. Bates County will feel the impact of the approaching Winter storm! Check out the two graphics just posted that were part of the NWS briefing. 


  • Wednesday NightSnow before 5am, then freezing rain and sleet. Low around 26. East wind 11 to
     8 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible
  • 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • ThursdayRain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 4pm, then a chance of rain between 4pm and 5pm, then a chance of rain and snow after 5pm. High near 35. Breezy, with a east southeast wind 14 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
  • Thursday NightA chance of rain, snow, and freezing drizzle before 9pm, then a slight chance of snow and freezing drizzle between 9pm and midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
