On 2/28/213,
the Bates County Sheriff’s Office, received a call from a citizen reporting a
disturbance in Amsterdam. The calling
party observed the two cars driving down the road trying to run each other off
the road. During the incident one
person pointed a gun out the window at the other car. As the Sheriff’s Office converged on the area
we found the two cars located at a residence in Amsterdam.
Six people
were arrested and transported to the Sheriff’s Office. The weapon was located along with suspected
narcotics and stolen property. Charges
are being sent to the prosecutor for review.
Four of the
subjects arrested are from Joplin area and two subjects are from the Amsterdam
Area. At this time this case is
considered to be an ongoing investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
Names are
being withheld until formal charges are filed.
