Obituary - Gerald “Jerry” Vinyard

Funeral services for Jerry Vinyard will be 7:00 PM Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Mullinax Funeral Home in Butler, Missouri (660-679-0009) with Pastor Ron Dunlap officiating. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 PM prior to the funeral service. Graveside services with burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Buckner Hill Cemetery, Buckner, Missouri. Gerald Edward “Jerry” Vinyard, 64 of Butler, Missouri, passed away July 15, 2013 at his home in Butler.
Jerry was born September 11, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Lawrence and Mary (Wright) Vinyard.
Jerry enjoyed spending time with family and his hobbies included watching Nascar racing and working with kids; he enjoyed animals, particularly dogs, and liked watching demolition derbies. He was a member of the Eagles’ Club, as well as the Children Come First Committee, an organization for children with special needs.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Lawrence Keith, Raymond Lee, Bobby Ray; Richard Allen; and sister, Sue Ellen. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Vinyard of Butler; son Darrell; step-sons James and Paul, all of the home; daughter Tracy Secrist and husband Steve of Pleasant Hill; son Jerry Vinyard and wife Amy of Independence, Mo.; one brother Kevin Vinyard, and two sisters Gina Vinyard and Debbie Griffin. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
