Funeral services for Wayne Smith will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial in Smith Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Contributions to Heartland Hospice.
Orville Wayne Smith, age 75 of Butler, Missouri died Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Willow Lane Nursing Center in Butler. He was born February 27, 1938 to Orville Zephaniah and Edith Jane Clinton Smith in Butler.
Wayne is survived by his loving companion, Roberta Hubler of Butler, Missouri; four sons, Jerry Gray of Tonitown, Arkansas, Randy Smith and wife Beth of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Douglas Alan Smith and wife Stacey of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Mike Wheeler and wife Stephanie of Mound City, Kansas; three daughters, Tami Soncrant and husband David of Jefferson City, Missouri, Cynthia Lynn Fowler and husband Steve of Warsaw, Missouri and Lisa LeeAnne Weise and husband J. Patrick of Mesa, Arizona; one sister, Norma Padley and husband Jack of Blue Springs, Missouri; 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one grandson on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Bertie Smith; and one niece, Jennifer.
