No Margaritas Today !

The Liquor License for the El Dorado Mexican Restaurant has officially been suspended until the next Butler City Council meeting, August 20th.
The Restaurant officially opened on Monday July 15th with an appropriate liquor license. The Restaurant is located on the South East Corner of the Butler Square just 1 building from the Ohio Street United Methodist Church Outreach Center, Which meets at 8:45 am on Sunday morning.
The Missouri Law states,  “ A licensed establishment be 100 feet from a church or school. Cities may require up to 300 feet or entirely waive the 100 foot requirement.” The Missouri Law states that each individual business should check with their local municipalities to determine what the local requirements are.
The Butler City code states that an establishment serving liquor must be 300 feet from any church or school. Our City amendment also states that businesses selling liquor may fall under the “Grandfather Clause”. This clause states; that if the establishment selling liquor was established “ first”. The law or amendment does not apply.
The Butler City Council has suspended the license for the sale of liquor by the El Dorado Mexican Restaurant, until an amendment to the city code is considered .
If an exception to the city 300 feet code is approved by the City of Butler another application will be filed after the August 20th , Butler City Council meeting.
