
On Monday
August 5th, 2013 the Bates County Sheriff’s Office and CNET Drug Task
Force were conducting surveillance on a suspected drug house just off of AA
Hwy, west of I49. The Deputies observed
suspicious activity at the house. A
vehicle pulled in the driveway of the residence and was surrounded by multiple
male subjects. The vehicle then left
with one of the males. The vehicle drove
down the gravel and came to a stop in the middle of the road next to a tree
line. A male exited the vehicle and ran
into the tree line then returned to the vehicle. Deputies then made contact with the vehicle
when it returned to the residence.
The subjects
in the vehicle were taken into custody.
The Deputies then made contact with the subjects that were in the
house. Two subjects came to the door and
a third subject ran from the residence.
The third subject was chased down and apprehended approximately a ¼ mile
from the residence.
Approximately
quarter pound of Marijuana was recovered from the scene. Five subjects were taken into custody and put
on a 24 hour hold. CNET Drug Task Force
agents then responded to the residence of one of the suspects and while there
they recovered another quarter pound of Marijuana.
The Bates
County Sheriff’s Office is submitting the case to the Prosecuting Attorney for
review of charges that range from Obstructing an Officer, Flee to Elude/Resist
Arrest, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia and Possession of
a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.
