Updated Information On Child Book Solicitors

In sharing information with our residents, we have been able to identify the company involved. The company is called Southwestern Advantage and they sell learning materials aimed at children from K-12. This would explain why the solicitors are asking about children in the residence and other children in the neighborhood. The LSPD has just one representative who applied for and was issued a solicitors permit. If a resident in LS is approached by any solicitor that they feel was pushy, suspicious or did not display the proper permit, they can call the Police Department at 816-969-7390 to report the incident. In all other cities, you can call your local police department. In Lee's Summit, solictors can only knock on doors between 9am and 8:00 p.m., any contact outside those hours is considered a violation.
