According to Henry
County Sheriff J. Kent Oberkrom, Cpl. Jason Gillespie responded to
1029 SE 75 Road, near Deepwater, shortly after 6:30 a.m. on a reported
gunshot wound.
At the scene Cpl.
Gillespie and medics from Golden Valley Hospital Ambulance found
Donald Boyle, age 48 of that address with an apparent gunshot wound
to the hand. According to the report, Boyle was deer hunting
Thursday morning when he dropped his rifle while climbing into his
deer stand. The rifle discharged with the round striking his hand.
Boyle was able to get back to his house where emergency services were
notified.
Boyle was transported
to Golden Valley Hospital and airlifted to another hospital for
treatment of his injuries.
