Sheriff
Oberkrom, left and Captain Jason Shackles review income figures for
the Detention Center.
|
Sheriff
J.
Kent
Oberkrom
is
pleased
to
announce
a
record
setting
year
in
regards
to
income
for
the
operations
of
the
Henry
County
Detention
Center.
The
new
Detention
Center
opened
in
October,
2010
with
118
beds
and
an
expanded
staff
for
operations.
Sheriff
Oberkrom
said,
“It
has
always
been
our
goal
to
issue
contracts
for
the
holding
of
inmates
from
other
facilities
including
Federal
authorities
if
needed
here
in
Henry
County”.
Captain
Jason
Shackles,
Jail
Administrator,
has
been
instrumental
in
establishing
a
“first
class”
facility
in
regards
to
policy
and
operations.
Captain
Shackles
has
built
strong
working
relationships
with
other
jail
administrator
throughout
the
state
and
the
Missouri
Sheriffs’
Association
over
the
past
year
and
a
half
to
bring
us
to
this
point
in
our
operations.
The
projected
income
for
the
Henry
County
Detention
Center
for
fiscal
year
2013
is
over
$575,000.00.
Normally,
the
county
receives
approximately
$250,000.00
annually
from
local
and
state
reimbursements.
We
hope
to
continue
to
hold
inmates
from
other
jurisdictions
to
supplement
the
income
for
the
operations
of
the
Detention
Center
and
I
know
that
Captain
Shackles
and
his
staff
of
professionals
will
continue
to
be
a
significant
part
of
making
that
happen”,
Sheriff
Oberkrom
said.
