FORMER BUTLERITE AND FAMILY LOSE EVERYTHING IN OVERNIGHT KANSAS CITY FIRE
Matt Hannah, a 21-year veteran of the Kansas City Police Department,
along with his wife and nine children, ranging in age from 1 to 16,
escaped the fire near 105th Terrace and College Avenue. Matt is the son
of Arnold and Sherry Hannah of Butler and the brother of Kirk Hannah,
Athletic Director at the Butler High School Someone woke up about 2:30 a.m. to find smoke and flames. Everyone escaped without injury by crawling through a window in the master bedroom onto the roof of a sunroom.
A neighbor let the family stay inside their home to keep warm overnight.We will have more information later, including the sizes needed for the
children. Some of the children will be staying in Butler with their
grandparents, Arnold and Sherry Hannah. FM 92 and Bates County Live is in the process of
organizing a donation drive for the immediate needs of the family and we
will be posting and updating this info on our website.
FM92 will be
providing dinner this evening for the family. FM92 will update you
with the needs after speaking with the family when they arrive in
