Larry Truman Bunch, 74, of Adrian, MO passed away at
his home on Sunday, December 15, 2013. Graveside service 11:00 a.m.
Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian.
Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Atkinson Funeral Home,
Adrian. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adrian VFW Post #1935
or the Adrian Optimist Club.
After graduating from high school, Larry enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1964. For 27 years he worked in Kansas City for MoKan Chemical Company. He retired several years ago to spend more time enjoying his family and especially his grandchildren. He took pleasure in attending his grandchildren's school and sporting events. Traveling was a passion for Larry, as he and Cheryl had visited all 50 states on various trips.
Larry was an active member in the Adrian Optimist Club, where he served on the board of directors as well as being a past secretary/treasurer. In 2006 he was awarded the Optimist Rookie of the Year and in 2009 he was the Optimist of the Year, both of which he was honored to receive. In addition, he took great pride in overseeing the kitchen at the Optimist Building for the weekly Monday Night Bingo's, along with other club activities. He also was active in the VFW Post #1935 in Adrian, MO. He was currently serving as the Quartermaster of the organization, and took great satisfaction in administrating the memorial bricks at the Lt. Charles Garrison Veteran's Memorial at the Adrian City Park. Larry also served as the president of the Adrian Blackhawk Athletic Booster club in 1984-85, as he was an avid supporter of the Blackhawks.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Cheryl (Reynolds) Bunch, and one infant son Ashley. He is survived by one daughter, Lara Six of Adrian, MO and her husband Cary; three sons Eric Bunch of Las Vegas, NV and his wife Staci, Brandon Bunch of Adrian and his wife Christie; and Grant Bunch of Puyallup, WA, and his wife,Molly; one sister, Colleen Montgomery of Kearney, MO; and 13 grandchildren; Malcyna Bayler and Kyler Six, Emilie, Jacob, Nickalus and Aden Bunch, Kate and Jayce Bunch,and Brehnna, Logan, Kayla and Mackenzie Bunch. Plus numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Larry will be missed by his family and friends.
