Around 3:50pm this afternoon the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with the Bates County Sheriff's Department,Butler Fire Department, Adrian Fire Department, Bates County EMS and Life Flight Eagle all responded to a 1 vehicle rollover accident on D Highway 7 miles East of Passiac 1 mile East of County Road 7003. The accident occurred when the 1999 Hyundai passenger car driven by 55 year old Fred S. Lunde of Butler, Missouri was traveling Eastbound on Route D and traveled off the right side of the roadway. The driver then over corrected which caused the vehicle to strike a embankment and overturn twice before striking a tree and coming to rest on the passenger side. Mr. Lunde was transported to Bates County Memorial Hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries. A passenger in the vehicle Dorothy E. Petris 47 years old of Butler, Missouri was transported by Life Flight Eagle to Research Hospital in Kansas City with serious injuries. The female passenger was complaining of neck, back and stomach injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Adrian Tire and Lube.
