Weather Update:Spring Can't Get Here Fast Enough

Eventually Spring will get here and this Winter will be a distant memory. However, we stil have to deal with two winter weather systems over the next 4 days. The first one arriving Friday morning will likely generate an area of sleet, snow and possibly freezing rain over parts of west central MO after the morning commute to work. The bulk of the precipitation will stay south of the region. Minor s...now and sleet accumulations of up to half an inch is possible for most areas. Northern Missouri could pick up an inch of new snow. A second stronger storm will soon follow with a wintery mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow affecting the region Saturday evening. Gradually the precipitation will change over to all snow by Sunday morning. There remains considerable differences in model snow/sleet amounts as well as where the heaviest snow could fall. Current indications suggest 3 or more inches of snow are possible in a corridor from east central KS through Kanas City into northeast MO. Due to the wide range of model solutions it's quite possible this area will change in future forecasts.
