Around 5:25pm this evening the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Bates County Sheriffs Office, Butler Fire Department and Bates County EMS all responded to a 1 vehicle 18 wheeler rollover accident in the Southbound Lanes of I-49 around mile marker 125.4 (Rattle Snake Hill ).
The accident occurred when the 2014 Freightliner driven by 61 year old Harold E. Mayor of Joplin, Missouri traveled off the left side of the roadway and over turned in the median.
Mr. Mayor was transported by Bates County ambulance to Research Main Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri with moderate injuries. The semi truck received moderate damage and was towed from the scene by M&M Towing.
