On Sept. 9, Donald Wareham, 56, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with unlawful use of a weapon, a class D felony. The warrant was issued on Sept. 8. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.
The charge stems from an incident on Aug. 20 when St. Clair County deputies responded to Appleton City in reference to a report of a man pulling a gun on a woman and her son. Sheila Prater reported Wareham was yelling at her son and pointed a shotgun at him. Prater explained she walked over to tell Wareham to put it away and he pulled the shotgun on her. During the investigation a loaded shotgun matching the description was located and seized from Wareham.
