Attention: Sabra recalls hummus due to contamination concerns

Sabra Dipping Company announced Wednesday that it is voluntarily recalling some of its stock of classic hummus sold nationwide.

About 30,000 cases are being recalled because of concerns about possible Listeria monocytogenes, the Food and Drug Administration stated, though there have been no related reports of illness.

Concerns arose about the product after a sample testing by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development came back positive for Listeria.

Five stock-keeping units or SKUs are affected.

People are advised to check codes and expiration dates to see if their products are affected. Officials urge those with affected products to either dispose of them or return them to the store for a refund.
