Around 3:15 p.m. yesterday the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with the Cass County Sheriffs Office responded to a one vehicle accident East 233rd Street just East of C Highway in rural Cass County.The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2002 Ford Escort driven by 18 year old Lauren A. Ellsworth of Grandview, Missouri ran off the right side of the roadway, Overcorrected and crossed the center line before striking a embankment and overturning several times ejecting the driver.
Lauren A. Ellsworth sustained serious injuries in this accident and was life flighted to Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Johnson's Tow.
