Butler man arrested after running from police on foot

Shortly after 1:00am this morning a Butler Police Officer observed a white male who was known to the officer to have a Felony Probation and Parole Warrant walking out of Bear Stop Gas Station on West Ft. Scott Street.

When officers attempted to make contact with the subject who later was identified at 24 year George O. Ratje of Butler he took off running from officers on foot.

A short chase ensued and Ratje was taken into custody in the parking lot of the Immanuel Baptist Church off of Prospect Street.

Mr. Ratje was booked into the Bates County Jail and other charges are pending at this time.
