He married Rita Paulette Coffey on August 13, 1960 in Marshall, Mo. She survives of the home.
Gerald was employed as a truck driver for Clearfield Cheese in Clinton, Mo., Hull Trucking, Clinton, Mo., and then with Stinnett Trucking in Lowry City, Mo. He enjoyed motorcycle travel, camping, fishing, go-karts, and model airplanes.
In addition to his wife Paulette, he is survived by one son, Darrell Wayne Maxwell and wife Lesa, Marshall, Mo.; one daughter, Tina Marie Wolfe and husband David, Colfax, Iowa; six grandchildren, Kevin Wayne Sperry and wife Elizabeth, Dustin Lee Veach and wife Courtney, Joshua Wayne Maxwell, Britny Marie Maxwell, Levi Garrett Maxwell, and Jason Michael Maxwell; 7 great-grandchildren, Jesslyn Gibbs, Hunter Veach, Weston Veach, Bryson Veach, Emmitt Veach, Rayne Crist, and Raiden Crist; two brothers, Charles Wilbur Maxwell and Leland Earl Maxwell, both of Clinton, Mo.; one sister, Janice Marie Schumacher and husband Mike, South Dakota; one niece and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold Dee Maxwell; and one grandson, Jordy Allan Maxwell.Graveside services and interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, Mo. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton, Mo. The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society, and these donations may be left in care of the funeral home
