Tractor thief in custody, details released

On 01-11-2017 The Adrian Police Department began a pursuit that
Travis Tinsely
involved a stolen vehicle. The chase ended in a field near county road 11001 and 18 highway. The suspect despite the below freezing temperature exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The Bates County Sheriff’s office called out multiple deputies and the K-9 units in an attempted to locate the male suspect. The deputies searched the surrounding area for many hours.

The suspect after fleeing the scene on foot stole a green John Deere 7520 tractor. The suspect after stealing the tractor stuck a telephone pole and knocked down power lines at CR 7001 just south of 11002. The power company was notified to make the power lines safe. Bates county deputy was able to locate the suspect and take him into custody at the intersection of CR 7001 and CR 9002. The male suspect was identified as Travis Edward Tinsely DOB 03-17-1991 of Amoret.

Tinsely is being held at the Bates County Jail. On an Adrian Police Department warrant for: Resisting arrest by fleeing a class E Felony.

Bond was set at $4,500.00 cash only

Bates County Charges pending: for the incident involving the stolen tractor.
