Clara Lee Holladay |
Clara was raised in Barry County, Missouri but also spent time in California and Kansas. Clara was a homemaker most of her life, canning, cooking for her family, and gardening. She enjoyed helping with disabled veterans as well as many others in need. Clara also loved time spent baby-sitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Clara lived nearly all of her life in Vernon and Cedar counties.
Survivors include four children, John Stephens and his wife Gayla, Arcadia, OK, George Stephens and his wife Ray Lynn, Crescent, OK, Robert Holladay, El Dorado Springs, and Margie Cargill, Nevada; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Goldia Tillford, Buffalo, MO; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Armond, she was preceded in death by an infant son, David, three sisters, Blanche Hosinger, Nora Pendergrass, and Icie Lecompte; and two brothers, Virgil Little and infant brother Erskine Little.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kansas with Brandon Gardner officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
