| Chance D. Bray |
Taken into custody without incident was Chance D. Bray, age 48 of Clinton on a Henry County warrant for felony property damage.
The case stems from events this past Sunday where it is alleged that Bray became very angry and caused significant damage to a vehicle owned by another family member by kicking it and throwing metal weights against the body and glass of the vehicle.
Bray is alleged to have made threats to kill family members and law enforcement officers if they came onto the property. It was also known that Bray maintained several weapons in the residence including a long range high powered rifle.
"Because of the seriousness of the threats allegedly made by Bray and the weapons in the residence, our office took steps necessary over the past days to minimize the risk to law enforcement officers serving the arrest warrant.
The Bates County Sheriff's Office team came to assist us and deployed assets that we do not have in Henry County to assure the safety of everyone involved", Sheriff Oberkrom said.
Several handguns and a .308 caliber rifle were seized from the residence as Bray was arrested. Bray remains in custody at the Henry County Detention Center on a $4,500.00 bond.
