Disturbance in Adrian leads to arrest

Christopher E Good
On 4/16/2017, Deputies were dispatched to an address just outside of the City limits of Adrian in reference to a male subject that was at a family member’s residence creating a disturbance. The subject was reportedly in the pond next to the house.

Upon arrival the Deputy observed him in the pond. The subject exited the pond and as the Deputy approached the subject he ran from the Deputy and jumped back into the pond. Deputies have responded to this location previously and told the subject that he was not to return.

Deputies gave the subject several orders to get out of the pond so they could place him under arrest. Deputies negotiated with the subject for several hours in an attempt to get him to return to the shore line. Additional deputies were called from home to response to the location to help take him into custody.

A police K9 unit was called from home to assist in the apprehension of the subject who appeared to be on some type of drugs and to reduce risk of injury to a Deputy. As negotiations continued with the subject he became agitated and began to pull large boulders from the water and threatened to hit the K9 and Deputies. Less lethal munitions were utilized along with the Deputies and K9 unit being deployed into the water to affect the arrest. The subject continued to fight with the Deputies and the K9. Once the subject was secured he was transported to the Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment of his dog bites. Once released from medical care he was transported to the Bates County Sheriff’s Office.

The subject was identified as Christopher E Good, WM 12/07/86. Good is currently out of prison on Parole for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Assault in the 2nd Degree. Good is facing new charges of Domestic Assault, Trespassing, Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Unlawful use of Drug Paraphernalia.
