DeWayne Marvin Brockway |
DeWayne was raised in Iowa and graduated from high school there. He served in the United States Army for two years while stationed stateside. DeWayne farmed in Iowa most of his life and also worked as a self-employed truck driver. In 1986 he and Kathleen came to Milo making Vernon County their home. He has resided in Nevada for the past 10 years. DeWayne enjoyed playing Domino’s, going to the races, and watching football.
n addition to his wife Kathleen, he is survived by one son, David Brockway, Kingman, AR; four daughters, Jeannie Pforts of Marshalltown, IA, Sandy McElhinney, Morning Sun, IA Tina Gilmore and her husband John, Milo, Stacie O’Neil and her husband James, Nevada; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rena Borckway; one son, Carl Messer; and one granddaughter, Sarah Milan.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
