| On Wednesday, May 10, 2017 Henry County Sheriff Kent Oberkrom attended the Climax Springs School District awards assembly and presented a certificate and $100 check to Katie Ethington for her 3rd place winning of the Missouri Peace Officers Foundation 8th grade essay contest. The theme this year was "Social Media: The good, the bad and the ugly". This is a state wide competition with only six awards given each year.
