Nevada Police have concluded an investigation into drug distribution

Nevada Police have concluded an investigation into drug distribution following a search warrant that was executed on May 10, 2017 in the 300 block of South Pine Street.

During the past few weeks officers had been conducting surveillance and gathering information from the neighborhood regarding suspected illegal drug activity at a specific residence in the 300 block of South Pine Street.

Through the investigation, Nevada Police learned that the suspect was currently on parole for prior drug related offenses.

Nevada Police obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s residence and during the evening hours of May 10, 2017 a team of detectives and patrol officers executed the search warrant.

During the search officers seized several large bags of suspected marijuana that are believed to have been prepared for distribution. In addition to the suspected narcotics, one weapon was taken from the scene.

The suspect, identified as April Hancock, age 31 of Nevada, was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Vernon County Jail for holding.

Charges against Hancock have been filed through the Vernon County Court as follows:

Delivery of a Controlled Substance - Class C Felony

Unlawful Possession of a Weapon - Class D Felony

Keeping or Maintaining a Public Nuisance - Class E Felony

Endangering the Welfare of a Child - Class A Misdemeanor

Hancock is being held in lieu of a $16,000 cash only bond.
