The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by 26 year old Chelsea K. Johnson of Nevada, Missouri ran off the roadway and struck a tree.
Chelsea K. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene by Vernon County Coroner David Ferry. The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Garwood's Wrecker Service of Nevada, Missouri. This is Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 74th Fatality accident of 2017.
